Transparent Hearts

Deep heartfelt confession can be both the sweetest and the most bitter experience life brings our way. When everything in us screams “hide or be hurt!” yet our silence makes our bones waste away all day long (Psalm 32:3) we have a choice to make. We can try to disguise our failures and weaknesses through blame and shame, or we can be transparent and real, walking humbly with our God. (Micah 6:8)

What will it take for our trembling hearts to come out of hiding and open up to the Sonshine of God’s love? The more we encounter an amazing God, whose goodness flows continually, the more we will trust Him. As we learn to trust Him we gain the courage to be honest with Him. “As we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

This week we will focus on the beautiful transparent hearts that are borne out of our humble walk with God. Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” (Matt. 5:8) Come prepared to share your stories of times when you came to God and/or people with heartfelt confession and how that changed your relationship with God, helping you to see Him more clearly.
