Christmas can either be a joyous time of year or a stressful one. Sometimes we get so busy running around buying gifts for everyone we know and some we barely know. We feel obligated to decorate our houses perfectly and to be the perfect host for our families. Is this what Jesus had in mind when he came to earth. I don’t think so.
It has been over 2000 years since our Father in heaven has given us the best gift. His Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus was our best gift because he restored our relationship with him and his Father. Since Creation God’s greatest desire is for us to be in fellowship with him. As John 3:16 says The father gave his only son to die for our sins so that we can be saved and spend eternity with him. He wants us to share that message and the gift of Salvation with our fellow man. As Jesus told his disciples before departing this Earth in the book of John we are to Love others as he has Love us. My prayer for you during this Christmas season, is to accept the greatest gift our Father has given us, Jesus and to follow Jesus’s example of loving your fellow man. Please join me on December 22nd as we explore God’s greatest gift and ways we can show love to others through our gifts.
