In today’s world we constantly see people in need. Some are struggling with homelessness, others with abuse and neglect, others with addictions, and still others who don’t fit into our ideal world. Do we take the time to stop to help them in their time of need? Do we provide comfort, shelter and even financial help to them? Do we only stop to help those that look like us, sound like us or have the same blood in our veins? Come and hear the Good Word this Sabbath as Jesus explains to an early lawyer, and to all of us the answers to these questions. Who is our neighbor? How can we show compassion to our neighbor? What does compassion look like? We will explore these and other questions as we read through the Parable of the Good Samaritan, and hear how local organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Center for Independence are helping those in need in our community.
