Today’s sermon is a journey back in time through the Bible to the book of Ruth. Imagine what it must have felt like to grow up afraid of the pagan god of your country. What must it have felt like to lose the man you married, and then to follow your mother-in-law to a new country where your people are looked down on and gossiped about. What must it have felt like to be so poor you needed to go to the fields to pick up the left-overs after the barley harvest. And, how would you have felt if somehow, someway, somebody cared enough to know your name. Yes…”He Knew My Name”..and He knows yours too!
Scripture: Ruth 1:16; Ruth 2:4-12; Matthew 1:1,2,5,6a
